
Senior Data Management Specialist

We are looking for a full-time contractor or employee to fill the role of Senior Data Management Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare, and produce statistical reports, charts, tables, analyses, and other data deliverables for the agency, external partners, and DFPS publications, including internal and external agency websites.
- Act as a liaison between technical staff and agency program staff regarding the planning, use, and implementation of Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud.
- Provide subject matter expertise in data governance, data cataloging, and enterprise data quality.
- Analyze and review the existing DFPS Data Governance Framework policies and planned activities.
- Contribute to the development and review of future policies, plans, and activities related to the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
- Develop project documentation, offer technical assistance to customers, and create and maintain functional and technical specifications.
- Organize and lead internal and external meetings or workgroups to discuss ongoing analysis, evaluations, and projects.
- Develop data-related policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to team members as needed or requested.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of the Data Management Association (DAMA) Book of Knowledge (DMBOK) best practices in data management and governance.
- Expertise in enterprise data management practices and theories.
- In-depth knowledge of data stewardship best practices.
- Familiarity with data models, database design, development, and data mining techniques.
- Understanding of data processing practices and theories.
- Experience evaluating technical data and drawing logical conclusions.
- Proficiency in relational databases.
- Experience using Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), specifically Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) at an enterprise scale for data inventory and stewardship.
- Skilled in working with business glossaries and data dictionaries.
- Strong experience in policy review and development.
- Ability to analyze functional/design requirements and create solutions for implementation.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Comprehensive Child Welfare Information Systems (CCWIS) requirements.
