We are looking for a full-time contractor or employee to join us as a Senior Project Manager
As part of the IT Project Management Office (PMO), you will oversee multiple IT projects, guiding them through the initiation, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closing phases. You will follow the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) to ensure that agency procedures are met. Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of technology projects to ensure they meet functional, contractual, and quality standards. You will apply SDLC methodologies and work collaboratively with teams to oversee project staff and deliverables. Additionally, you will develop project budgets, schedules, and resource plans, while maintaining communication with stakeholders and managing third-party vendors.
Required Skills:
- Proven full-time experience in IT Project Management, business analysis, or project administration.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects through all development phases.
- Strong background in structured design, scope control, project estimation, risk mitigation, and handling corrective and preventive actions for cost overruns.
- Expertise in managing project activities, setting goals and objectives, exercising sound judgment for decision-making, and developing plans to address challenges.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify project risks and gaps, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user/stakeholder needs.
- Experience facilitating business process mapping and reengineering, as well as identifying technology applications that improve business efficiency.
- Expertise in documenting detailed requirements for IT solutions that align with program and user needs.
- Proven ability to gather requirements across multiple, geographically dispersed program areas with varying business needs.
Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience in structured design, scope control, project estimation, risk mitigation, and managing corrective/preventive actions for project overruns.
- Experience in presenting to program and IT management, project sponsors, and executive leadership.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
