We are looking for a full-time contractor or employee to join as a Senior JIRA & BitBucket Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and customize JIRA Data Center and BitBucket to meet the diverse needs of the organization.
- Provide ongoing system administration support for Atlassian tools, including Jira and Bitbucket, and drive increased user adoption through continuous enhancements.
- Gather, consolidate, and prioritize IT business requirements related to JIRA implementation, documenting necessary updates.
- Manage an intake process for staff to submit JIRA improvement requests.
- Maintain and prioritize a backlog of JIRA improvements.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish new projects as required to meet business objectives.
- Optimize and maintain existing projects to improve performance and work processes by leveraging JIRA best practices, including Agile, Kanban, and other frameworks.
- Integrate JIRA with existing tools, such as PPM and BitBucket, to meet specific business needs.
- Update and integrate JIRA with new features and other tools in the Atlassian suite, adhering to best practices to maximize enterprise-wide use.
- Customize workflows, screens, fields, issue types, dashboards, filters, and schemes to align with business requirements.
- Adapt the toolset to align with project roadmaps and optimize integration with CAB processes.
- Manage user permissions in Atlassian tools, based on project and team needs.
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve workflows, streamline tasks, and enhance efficiency.
- Research, recommend, and configure plugins to extend Jira/BitBucket functionality.
- Implement and recommend permission schemes, groups, and roles, following security best practices.
- Regularly review and audit user accounts and permissions to ensure compliance with security policies and licensing limits.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to share best practices and knowledge with users and stakeholders.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance to end-users.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect system configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Coordinate with users, vendors, and teams to implement system upgrades.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for JIRA, BitBucket, and plugins.
- Ensure project deadlines are met or renegotiated with customer approval before target dates.
- Prepare memos and reports on project status, performance metrics, and other relevant information as requested.
- Participate in technical and functional design meetings for system modifications.
- Engage in the software development life cycle (SDLC), identifying potential issues and recommending mitigation or contingency plans to management.
Required Skills:
- Experience administering JIRA Data Center
- Experience administering BitBucket Data Center
- Proficiency with JIRA/BitBucket REST APIs for integration, complex workflows, screen modifications, permissions, and notifications
- Strong experience designing and managing complex JQL and SQL queries
- Experience handling user administration for Atlassian tools (including JIRA and BitBucket) to support project teams
- Ability to troubleshoot JIRA/BitBucket issues and provide technical support
- Experience providing training to both technical and non-technical teams on Atlassian tools
- Familiarity with updating SOPs to document system configurations and best practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

- Certified Scrum Master
