We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in Natural programming and mainframe systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mainframe Natural programs and JCL for projects and operations.
- Support and troubleshoot development, architecture, and mainframe operations.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Automate processes by integrating mainframe and external systems.
- Ensure compliance with change control and procedural standards.
- Test and validate application changes through unit and system testing.
- Maintain documentation and conduct quality assurance.
- Provide flexible support, including work outside business hours when needed.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience as a mainframe developer or programmer analyst with Natural programming.
- Strong background in large-scale, complex mainframe production systems.
- Hands-on experience in application design, implementation, and production support.
- Proficiency in mainframe development, including:
- Natural programming, TSO/ISPF, JCL, and DB2.
- Additional skills: VSAM files.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a global work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize business impact and urgency.
- Experience in application support, security reviews, and system maintenance.
- Quick adaptability to new technologies and methodologies.
- Experience in creating project documentation, including technical specifications, process workflows, and database field specifications.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mainframe incidents and business support issues.
- Hands-on experience with testing and database management systems (IBM Data Studio, Squirrel).
- Experience as a programmer, analyst, or systems administrator.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the Texas Workforce Commission.
