We are looking for a full-time contractor or employee for a Software Quality Assurance Tester role.
The role has to oversees advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team leadership within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). This role involves managing the daily operations of testing teams, as well as planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and issues to automate processing or enhance existing systems.
The position collaborates with the TSDS development team to deliver the following Software Testing Services:
- Analyze user requirements, design documents, and other documentation to create detailed performance testing scenarios.
- Utilize performance testing methodologies such as load, stress, and endurance testing.
- Write and execute performance test scripts.
- Analyze performance reports to identify bottlenecks.
- Conduct API testing using REST-assured based frameworks.
- Work closely with development teams and customers to understand the functionality being tested and define/test automated cases, while ensuring clear communication with the team.
- Perform SQL queries for data analysis and manipulation.
- Conduct manual testing and data validation.
Required Skills:
- Testing complex web applications
- Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Automation testing expertise with Selenium and TestNG
- API testing experience using REST-assured frameworks
- Proficiency in database/SQL queries
- Familiarity with Java programming language
Preferred Skills:
- Test automation experience using open-source technologies and/or custom frameworks
- Experience in API testing (SOAP and REST)
- Familiarity with Jira
- Experience with Zephyr Scale
- Background in educator certification systems
