We are seeking a freelance Compliance Specialist to support our organization in achieving and maintaining SOC 2 Type II and NIST 800-53 compliance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IT security frameworks, risk management, and regulatory audits, and will guide us through certification, documentation, and remediation processes.

- Proven experience with SOC 2 Type II and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001, FedRAMP preferred).
- Familiarity with risk assessment tools and compliance management platforms.
- Ability to draft and review compliance documentation and security policies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Prior experience supporting organizations through certification or audit processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IT security, GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance), or auditing.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CRISC.
- Experience working with government or regulated industry compliance programs.
Engagement Details
