We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for a Big Data Engineer role to design, build, and maintain large-scale data processing systems that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable big data pipelines and architectures
- Process and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data tools
- Work with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to support analytics needs
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across data platforms
- Implement data governance, security, and best practices
- Troubleshoot and optimize data processing workflows
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipelines
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and analytics concepts
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-native data services (AWS Glue, EMR, BigQuery, Azure Data Factory)
- Knowledge of streaming platforms (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to DevOps or DataOps practices
