We are seeking a DevOps Engineer for a full-time contractor or employee role. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation, DevOps, and data warehousing, with a strong focus on optimizing batch jobs, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and optimize batch jobs and operations.
- Analyze current technologies and propose improvements for scalability and efficiency.
- Design, implement, and enhance advanced CI/CD solutions.
- Develop, code, test, build, install, configure, and maintain IT solutions.
- Optimize deployment processes to streamline code releases and minimize errors.
- Automate deployments using configuration management tools for production and non-production environments.
- Document technical processes and procedures.
- Provide support for production and non-production environments, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Assist in release management and sprint-related activities.
- Develop enterprise-level automation solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare and present project proposals for approval.
Required Skills:
- Experience automating the full lifecycle of complex enterprise IT environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and CI/CD tools, integrated into a unified solution for deploying new environments or modifying existing ones. This includes working with IBM WebSphere, MQ, Oracle products, and AWS.
- Expertise in designing and implementing automation solutions that ensure scalability, repeatability, and recoverability.
- Proven experience in advanced automation using tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible Automation Platform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Liquibase.
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, including Python, GoLang, Shell, Ruby, Bash, and Perl.
- Hands-on experience with containers and container orchestration on Kubernetes platforms such as PODMAN, Docker, OpenShift, and Rancher, as well as packaging tools like Helm Charts and Kustomize.
- Strong background in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, EJB, JSP, JSF/Struts (JavaServer Faces, Apache Struts Framework), and XML is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as WebSphere ND, MQ, Oracle, Java, SQL tools (PL/SQL Developer, SQL Plus), LDAP, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
