We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team as either a full-time contractor or employee. This role involves modernizing legacy database programs, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring seamless data migration across various projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data migration, validation, and transformation.
- Perform database programming to modernize legacy systems.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including source-to-target mappings.
- Develop database code (triggers, stored procedures) to support data entry and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Data Management and Governance standards.
- Administer and configure TWC technical environments appropriately.
- Conduct unit and system testing of database code.
- Provide troubleshooting support during development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases.
- Coordinate project activities such as scheduling meetings, documenting notes, and tracking action items.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support ongoing operations.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and batch data processing across legacy and modern technologies.
- Hands-on experience in data conversion mapping and execution for large datasets.
- Strong background in ETL development using tools like SSIS or Informatica.
- Expertise in database coding standards and best practices.
- Experience with enterprise-level data migration and conversion.
- Ability to design conceptual, logical, and physical database models, including data dictionaries.
- Advanced experience in SQL Server development (functions, stored procedures, triggers).
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and other database technologies.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure platform services and Cloud service delivery models.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software design principles.
- Strong analytical skills for data quality assurance and validation.
- Experience with Collibra, Informatica for data governance and integration.
- Proficiency in project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, and ALM Octane.
