We are looking for a Full-time contractor or employee for a Mainframe Developer role.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Participating in all phases of SDLC, including design, software development and code review.
Work with Business Customers, Section Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a professional and collaborative manner to define strategies, implementation approaches and provide creative solutions to complex problems.
Create well-designed, documented, and tested software solutions that meet strict availability, concurrency, and low latency requirements.
Turn high-level requirements into a working system through iterative and incremental development.
Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
Write unit tests
Develop processes and procedures for Application Services.
Say abreast of current technologies, industry standards and best practices
Experienced in supporting applications in a production environment including resolving processing issues as part of on-call rotation.
Be productive working independently or in a team environment (both local and remote) with minimal supervision.

Must possess:

CPA will require the Candidate to work on the following initiatives and will perform advanced analysis/programming tasks such as:

Participating in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle, including design, software development and code review.
Performing extensive code reviews and analysis.
Writing reports on code analysis to determine if industry standards and best practices are being followed; provide analysis to address found short comings.
Providing guidance and knowledge sharing to existing development staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Experience making code changes in accordance with standards, guidelines, and design documents provided.
Experience coordinating the testing, debugging, and preparing of test data and interacting with technical and non-technical staff in the coordination of changes
Professional experience in software development building production software systems
Experience with IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS
Experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS
Experience with MVS/JCL
Experience with data integration and data quality
Experience with Software AG's NATURAL
Experience with highly complex application security requirements
Experience with any of the Texas CPA Statewide Financial Systems: USAS, USPS, SPRS, TINS, HRIS and SPA
Experience with Agile development experience with Scrum, Kanban, Jira, and Confluence
Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, TEAMS, Microsoft Project, Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Skills:

Experience with CICS Web Services
Experience with CONTROL-M for z/OS
Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government)
Experience designing and implementing secure RESTful web services
Experience with: code reviews and in-depth code analysis and completing system documentation
Experience in developing and implementing containerized web applications in cloud with high proficiency in one or more languages from our stack (REACT JS, Node JS , Phthon,JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS etc.)
Hands-on experience in Core AWS Services like CloudFront, EC2, CloudFormation, Lamda, S3, Route53, AWS CDK,SNS & SQS
Experience building apps using Phyton, React JS, NodeJS, webservices, writing RESTFul interfaces
Experience designing and implementing secure RESTful web services
Experience designing and building Microservices
Experience with Agile teams that have iteratively and incrementally delivered software while practicing code review
Experience with Java programming language
Experience with coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior level software developers and other personnel as required
Experience with BMC Code Pipeline (formerly Compuware ISPW)
Knowledge of Topaz
Knowledge of IDz, Eclipse for Mainframe
