We are looking for a Full-time contractor or employee for a PeopleSoft ERP Migration to OCI role.

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Cloud Migration Specialist to lead the migration of our PeopleSoft ERP system(s) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, PeopleSoft Cloud Manager, and PeopleSoft ERP architecture. This role involves collaborating with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) teams to assess, plan, deploy, and optimize the migration, ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud while maintaining compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assessment and Planning:
    • Analyze the current on-premises infrastructure and develop a lift-and-shift strategy to migrate to Oracle Cloud.
    • Create detailed cloud architecture and deployment plans.
    • Estimate costs and develop budgets for the cloud migration process.
  2. Cloud Deployment:
    • Set up and configure OCI infrastructure and services.
    • Integrate the cloud systems with existing on-premises infrastructure in collaboration with MNIT teams.
    • Lead the migration of data, applications, and services to OCI.
  3. Security and Compliance:
    • Implement robust security measures to safeguard data and applications.
    • Ensure all cloud deployments comply with State of Minnesota standards and regulations.
    • Establish access controls and implement continuous monitoring systems.
  4. Backup Implementation:
    • Design and implement a comprehensive backup strategy for PeopleSoft applications and associated databases.
    • Utilize State-chosen technologies, including Commvault or OCI backup solutions, for backup processes.
    • Develop and implement automated backup reporting and monitoring.
  5. Optimization and Management:
    • Monitor cloud performance and resource utilization.
    • Identify and apply cost-saving measures to optimize cloud operations.
  6. Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide ongoing technical support for cloud services and resolve any technical issues.
    • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues related to the lift-and-shift process.
  7. Documentation and Training:
    • Maintain detailed documentation of the cloud architecture, migration processes, configurations, and issues.
    • Provide training and mentorship to MNIT staff on cloud technologies and best practices.
    • Assist the State IT staff in building their expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing.
    • Recommend and implement enhancements to increase cloud efficiency and performance.
  9. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical guidance and consultation throughout the project to ensure a successful migration and deployment.
  10. Post-Migration Support:
    • Continue supporting the project after the migration, addressing any related tasks as needed to ensure a seamless transition to MNIT support teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience migrating PeopleSoft ERP System(s) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • 2+ years of experience working with PeopleSoft Cloud Manager.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience migrating PeopleSoft ERP systems (HCM, FMS, ELM, Integration Hub) to OCI.
  • Familiarity with supporting systems such as Broadcom AppWorx, IBM DataStage, and OBIEE Reporting tools.
  • Expertise in PeopleSoft architecture, including PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), PeopleTools, Application Designer, and PeopleCode.
  • Proficient in Oracle Database management, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and database containerization.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking and security specific to PeopleSoft and cloud environments.
  • Experience with Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) Architecture and/or Exalogic.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) and Exadata Architecture.
