The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior PeopleSoft HCM Functional Analyst to join the CAPPS HCM upgrade project team. This role focuses on leveraging expertise in PeopleSoft HCM Payroll or Time & Labor to ensure successful implementation and upgrades. The ideal candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to analyze business needs, document system requirements, conduct in-depth testing, and facilitate seamless communication across teams. This position is essential in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the technical viability of system changes within Texas state agency frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document business objectives, problems, and user requirements to recommend effective system solutions.
- Collaborate with organizational units to review current processes, identify issues, and determine specific input and output needs, including data formatting and reporting.
- Develop detailed descriptions of system functions and user requirements for both new and modified systems.
- Evaluate system capabilities and limitations, ensuring requested changes align with technical possibilities and project timelines.
- Lead requirement gathering sessions, ensuring clear communication between stakeholders and technical teams.
- Author complex system documentation, including requirements, test scenarios, test scripts, and training materials.
- Perform comprehensive testing of PeopleSoft HCM systems, including integration and interface tests, ensuring accuracy and functionality across multiple test cycles.
- Facilitate review meetings with subject matter experts (SMEs), delivering presentations and functional analysis to guide project decisions.
- Operate effectively in a remote, collaborative environment using modern tools and techniques.
- Provide realistic work estimates, manage deadlines, and maintain open lines of communication with project stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Experience as a Business Analyst on PeopleSoft HCM on implementation or upgrade projects
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Payroll or Time & Labor
- Experience as a Business Analyst in identifying requirements and creating formal functional documents for key business stakeholders and SMEs
- Experience as a Business Analyst in conducting formal work sessions and functional analysis presentations
- Experience in performing hands-on end-to-end system integration and external interface testing
- Experience with Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government)
- Experience working with the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) CAPPS Financials
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCN 9.2 Payroll or Time & Labor
- Experience with PeopleSoft Approval Workflow Engine (AWE)
- Experience with SharePoint
- Experience with Jira
- Experience working with the Scrum framework
