The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial information, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role involves leading the accounting team, coordinating with other departments, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to enhance their skills and professional growth.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities among team members to ensure efficient workflow and meeting of deadlines.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Support strategic planning and financial decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial insights.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Leverage technology to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
- Tax and Regulatory Filings:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance, Operations, and HR, to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to overall business strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA certification preferred).
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in accounting, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
