Pee Dee Community Action Partnership is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our IT team. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our web-based applications, contributing to the enhancement of our digital services that support our mission of community empowerment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
3. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
4. Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and ensure scalability.
5. Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code following best practices.
6. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
7. Document software specifications and provide support for technical documentation.
8. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in software development.
**Requirements:**
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
2. Proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of Java EE or Spring framework.
3. Experience with web application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
4. Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).
5. Knowledge of RESTful web services and API development.
6. Proficiency in version control tools (e.g., Git) and build automation tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle).
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
1. Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
2. Familiarity with front-end development frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
3. Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
