We are looking for a Full-time contractor or employee for a Cloud Apps Developer role at one of our client Sites.
Description of Job Duties:
CPA is looking for a highly motivated Cloud Applications Developer to join our IT team to design, develop, and maintain applications.
The Candidate will perform highly advanced design and development work as part of the Information Management and Analytics Cloud
Services team. The primary responsibility for this role is to perform advanced (senior level) computer systems analysis work
and development tasks for web applications using NodeJS and modern Cloud infrastructure. This role will use agency
configuration management tools to deploy applications to Client-approved Cloud environments. The Candidate must possess
strong technical and communication skills and will work with the Product Owners, Scrum-masters, cloud solution architects, and
internal/external stakeholders to develop, test, and implement web application solutions for CPA.
The Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on technical experience with NodeJS and React, and
experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as experience in developing, testing and implementing full-stack web
applications for a large organization. The ideal candidate would also have experience with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, RDS,
DynamoDB, SQS, and other tools are used in distributed applications.

The client will require the Candidate to work on the following initiatives and will perform advanced analysis/programming tasks
such as:
- Collaborate with CPA internal staff to develop new web applications in AWS
- Understand CPA’s current infrastructure and technology stack to employ the best AWS solutions in working with cross-functional team member(s) and/or solution architects.
- Performs development tasks in NodeJS and modern Cloud infrastructure technologies based on business requirements; designs and codes applications adhering to design & coding standards.
- Coordinates implementation activities with all appropriate areas including business customers.
- Identifies all deliverables included in the implementation and verifies that deliverables are ready to be installed in the environment.
- Determines the cause of application or environmental problems by gathering information related to the problem.
- Identifies appropriate resolution options; obtains appropriate approval; and coordinates the execution of the selected option.
- Performs analysis, research, and interpretation of business requirements to document technical requirements and develop technical specifications.
- Performs unit testing and integration testing of applicable changes based on requirements, including implementation and
- environment preparation, documentation, coordination, and monitoring
- Design and implement cost-effective migration strategies.
- Design and implement integration with internal systems and external third-party tools.
- Create reusable, effective, and scalable code.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs in the system and develop solutions.
- Conduct software analysis, testing, updating, and debugging.
- Perform extensive unit testing and update the application so that it can be used on all web browsers.
- Design and implement system maintenance and future scaling as required.
- Validate the environment to ensure it meets all security and compliance controls expected by the CPA’s IT Security team and CPA’s Information Security guidelines are set by the CPA ISO office.
- Performing extensive code reviews and analysis.
- Ensure that the industry standards and best practices are being followed; provide analysis to address any gaps & shortcomings.
- Providing guidance and knowledge sharing to new/existing development staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications:
Must have:
- Extensive hands-on experience designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable applications on AWS services.
- Extensive hands-on experience using React and NodeJS on AWS services.
- Full cycle implementation experience in developing web applications from scratch with micro-service architecture including various architecture patterns such as event-driven models, messaging queues, etc.
- Experience in writing unit tests with Jest or other related tools.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies Agile and Scrum.
Must be able to:
- work with AWS databases including RDS (MySQL) and DynamoDB (NoSQL).
- work with DevOps pipeline using Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, and MSBuild including AWS DevOps technologies.
